FY 2022 Reconciliation Resources

Policymakers are in the midst of negotiating a Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 reconciliation package. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget has been following the developments closely. We have published timely, in-depth analyses and will continue to do so. All the products we have published thus far are listed below. This page will be regularly updated as we release subsequent analyses and other products. To sign up for updates on reconciliation and other budget news click here.

The reconciliation legislation will be guided by instructions included in the concurrent budget resolution passed on August 24, 2021. That resolution provided for deficit increases of up to $1.75 trillion, providing instructions to 12 Senate committees and 13 House committees to write legislation to comply with the budget. Once each committee reports its instructions and the respective Budget Committee reports the legislation, it will have fast-track consideration, allowing it to bypass the filibuster in the Senate.
