Graphic Desginer

Richard Von Zimmer

Richard Von Zimmer is a Graphic Designer for the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, where he develops a wide range of visual communications, including infographics, social media content, annual reports, email templates, and interactive graphics. He also plays a key role in strengthening and maintaining the Committee's visual brand across multiple channels.

Prior to joining the Committee, Richard worked with several Washington, DC–area nonprofit organizations, including the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, where he served as Design Manager and helped solidify the organization’s visual identity across all materials. During his tenure there, he received American Graphic Design Awards from Graphic Design USA in 2013, 2015, and 2018 for work spanning annual reports and hardcover publications. Earlier in his career, he was a Visual Information Specialist at the United States Institute of Peace, where he earned first place in the Washington Book Publishers’ Book Design and Effectiveness competition for his design of Engaging Extremists: Tradeoffs, Timing & Diplomacy.

A fine-art photographer and published author of poetry and short fiction, Richard holds an A.S. degree in Photography and Graphic Design from Northern Virginia Community College. Contact him at zimmer@crfb.org.
