Policy Director

Chris Towner

Chris Towner is the Policy Director for the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, where he manages the policy team's day-to-day workflow and analyzes budget, tax, health, and retirement policy. Before becoming policy director, Chris advocated for children's issues in the federal budget at First Focus on Children and was the lead analyst for the Committee’s McCrery-Pomeroy SSDI Solutions Initiative. Chris has over a decade of federal budget policy expertise and was elected to the National Academy of Social Insurance in 2022. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Political Science from Boston University. Contact him at towner@crfb.org.
