Responsibly Confronting Social Security Disability's Financing Crisis

On May 12, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget and the Mercatus Center co-hosted a forum on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC on improving the finances of the Social Security Disabaility Insurance trust fund, which faces insolvency in 2016. The panel inlcuded Andrew Biggs of the American Enterprise Institute; Charles Blahous of the Mercatus Center; Jason Fichtner of the Mercatus Center; Marc Goldwein of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget; Stephen Goss, Chief Actuary of the Social Security Administration; Ed Lorenzen of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget; David Stapleton of Mathematica Policy Research and Mark Warshawsky of the Mercatus Center.
