Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget and UVA's Miller Center host "America's Fiscal and Financial Future: The 2016 Caplin Conference"

On Tuesday, April 5, 2016, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget and the Miller Center at the University of Virginia hosted the 2016 Mortimer Caplin Conference. This program focused on fiscal issues facing the next president and featured welcoming remarks by Bill Antholis, Director and CEO of the Miller Center, and Maya MacGuineas, President of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. It was then followed by a discussion entitled "Lessons from History - Budget Policy in the First Year" moderated by Ann Compton of ABC News with two former directors of the Office of Management and Budget: Mitch Daniels (OMB Director 2001-2003) and Alice Rivlin (OMB Director 1993-1996). Following this was a discussion entitled "Looking Forward - How the Next President Should Address America's Fiscal Future" moderated by Greg Ip of the Wall Street Journal with Maya MacGuineas and Jared Bernstein, a Senior Fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
