Charlie Stenholm: We will have to face rising national debt

Charlie Stenholm is a senior policy advisor at Olsson Frank Weeda, P.C., and a member of the Committee for a Resonsible Federal Budget. He recently wrote a piece for Hood County News, an excerpt of which is below:

It’s possible to spend responsibly, reduce waste, optimize the tax code and foster economic growth.

There is no higher priority than controlling the virus and making whole those who have faced physical or economic harm because of it.

But once we can turn our focus to the economic recovery, Texans and those around the country deserve to know that Congress will take its fiscal responsibilities more seriously than it did heading into this crisis.
